Chandulal Madhavlal Trivedi

Padma Vibhushan Sir Chandulal Madhavlal Trivedi, KCSI, Kt., CIE, OBE, ICS (1893-1981) was an Indian administrator and civil servant who served as the President of the Bharat Scouts and Guides from February 1967 to October 1973. He was born and raised in Kapadwanj, Dist. Kheda, Gujarat State where he married Kusumben Chunilal Trivedi (also from Kapadwanj), and after a long, happy, meaningful life, retired and spent the rest of his life in his hometown.

He was the Governor of Orissa from 1946 to 1947, and the first Governor of Punjab, India from 1947 to 1953, The First Governor of Andhra Pradesh [List of Governors of Andhra Pradesh] from 1 October 1953 till 1 August 1957. He also was a member of The Planning Commission of India [1] from 28 October 1957 till 1 DECEMBER 1963; and was the deputy Chairperson of The Planning Commission of India from 22 September 1963 till 2 December 1963.

He was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 1931, a Companion of the Order of the Indian Empire (CIE) in 1935, a Companion of the Order of the Star of India (CSI) in 1941 and was knighted in 1945 when he was created a Knight Bachelor. Later the same year, he was promoted to the rank of Knight Commander of the Order of the Star of India (KCSI). He was awarded the Padma Vibhushan in 1956.
